Offered here is a very fine example of a Vietnam War Purple Heart medal that has been name engraved. This medal in particular was awarded to Charles L. Briddell, a native of Baltimore, who was an African-American man who served D company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry. Briddell was killed by small arms fire in 1969. In the very last photos you can see a proper studio photo of Briddell, as well as a photograph of him in the field. There is a good amount of information on Briddell that can be pulled up easily online. African-American attributed Purple Hearts are harder to find than those from other races or ethnic groups. Overall condition is quite nice, displays very well!
