WW2 German Late War Police Helmet Shell Named
Offered here is a very neat late war police helmet shell. These helmets were worn by police units well until the end of the war. This helmet is of course missing it’s liner and chin strap; and is currently just the shell. We pulled this helmet shell out of the woodwork from a veterans family. The decals on the helmet appear to have been scratched out, likely that the policeman who wore this scratched them out fearing the occupying forces would confuse him as a member of the SS, and summarily executed. What is also neat about this helmet shell is that it is named, might be possible to find this particular service member.
