WW2 German HJ Trumpet + Banner
Offered here is an extremely fine example of a trumpet + banner that would have been carried by a member of the Hitler Youth. This trumpet is finely engraved in several areas, on the inside of the bell we see engraved the motto of the Hitler Youth “Blut Und Ehre!”, as well as the symbol of the HJ diamond. On the very base of the bell it’s finely engraved with the HJ eagle, and the city name of “Wiesbaden”, this trumpets mouth piece is also marked with several markings, as well as “Wiesbaden” again, and most interestingly; a small circled swastika. The banner is a lovey, early, double-sided banner featuring nice silver bullion. The last photo I included to give a period visual to who, and how these were used. Overall the condition is quite nice, there is of course some imperfections, there is a small chip in the bell or the trumpet, several small holes in the banner, some of the bullion wire has rubbed off, some small dings in the trumpet as well. Personally I like to see patina and imperfections like this, in my estimation it would almost be suspicious to find this set in perfect condition as it was carried by a 14 year old child. This set is really incredible, and belongs in a collection of HJ militaria!
