WW2 German SA Dagger F. Herder

$1,295.00

Offered here is a very fine example of a WW2 German SA man’s dagger. This dagger was produced by the F. Herder firm of Solingen. This dagger is an earlier example, and features the crossed keys logo. This logo in particular, while not necessarily a rare one; is quite desirable by collectors as one of the more aesthetically pleasing maker logos produced during the period. Overall the condition is really fantastic, if you love totally untouched, non-cleaned items; then this is the dagger for you. There is one very tiny chip at the top of the grip, as well as a few very tiny chips on the side of the grip as well, they’re not easily noticeable, overall the grip is very clean and is very nice. The scabbard retains much of its original anodized finish, there is one small ding in the reverse (as many of them have that) other than that it’s quite clean and very nice. The blade is very fine, free of any conditional issues, and still retains a fair amount of cross grain. What is truly nice about this dagger is the totally untouched patina, you seldom see this anymore in the market, as dealers clean up their daggers to help them sell. This dagger was pulled right out of the woodwork from a veteran family, we did not purchase it from the family directly, but we did purchase it from the original purchaser.
