WW1 Era US Identified Mexican Border Service Medal
Offered here is a very nice and interesting example of a numbered and identified US Mexican Border Service Medal. These medals were issued to those soldiers who were stationed along the Mexican border, and to those were were members of the expeditionary force that went after the infamous Pancho Villa.
Upon searching the number on this medal I was able to identify who the recipient was. This medal was issued to a Colonel John Reed Warner, it is very unusual to find such high ranking recipients for these medals. I did not continue to research the rest of Colonel Warner’s career, this would make for a nice research project!
