WW2 Italian Fascist Anti-Aircraft Militia Armshield
Offered here is a very nice arm shield that would have been warm by a member of the “Milizia Controaerei”. These men were members of the MVSN, the paramilitary arm of the fascist party. This sub-unit of the MVSN was specially trained in firing medium sized anti-aircraft cannon. These shields are highly collected in Italy and abroad. There are 3/4 different variations of the Controaerei shields. This one has that perfect battle tested look too it. The shield has good patina and bits of missing paint all around, there is one small cut around the eagle, however you can’t really see it and only notice if you try and bend the shield. The program that I use to white out the background had trouble with whiting out the insides of the ring with eagle and fascio. There is of course nothing wrong around there. I would say this is a nice “salty” example, as collectors like to say, but this shield is a bit nicer than that, it has that perfect battle used look that every collector desires.
