WW2 Captured German Signed Flag
Offered here is an incredible example of a captured German flag that was signed by the US veterans who captured it. This flag roughly measures 50x30” and is a great display piece. There is plenty of signatures on the roundel of this flag. Interestingly there is 1 strip of the flag that was neatly cut off, I would guess that this was deliberately done by the GI’s. That strip likely cut into smaller strips and distributed to the men in the squad that captured it. I have not researched any of the men who signed this flag, I think they will be a rewarding moment for the next caretaker of this piece and will leave that for them. Not only is this flag amazingly signed by the veterans, but the flag itself is a very rare early flag with noticeably skinny swastica. These flags were used in the early days of the NSDAP. It’s very rare to find these flags, especially one that was captured and signed!
