WW2 German NSKK Dagger Gottleib Hammesfahr
Offered here is a very nice example of a NSKK dagger produced by the Gottleib Hammesfahr firm in 1938. The blade on this dagger is very nice and bright, with a few spots of patination. The scabbard also is fairly nice with most of its original paint, there is one medium-sized spot where the paint was rubbed off. This paint loss is something I would like to see on an NSKK dagger, one has to imagine that these guys were on and off of motorcycles, in endless parades, etc so these daggers were subjected to many abuses. The grip is very nice, and the fat cross guards are typical of Gottleib Hammesfahr. Overall this dagger is quite nice, with some honest wear it has tremendous character!
