WW2 German Officers 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger
For sale is a nice example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe officers dagger. This is the 2nd model which replaced the first model in 1937. This dagger is unmarked, meaning that it was produced by a manufacturer who did not stamp their own logo into the ricasso. This dagger is a later example, featuring a white grip, and base metal fittings, both of these indicative of later production daggers. The cross guard also has a period repair, and was riveted in place. This happened often as the cross guards on this model of dagger would often hit the lip of the scabbard and cracked. The blade is quite nice, some patination but overall it shines nicely. Overall this dagger is a solid piece, and priced accordingly, this would be a good starter piece for a collector who wants a first dagger or wants a 2nd Model Luftwaffe and does not want to spend 650+
