WW2 Italian Fascist High Leaders Dress Dagger
Offered here is an exquisite example of an Italian fascist party “high leader” dagger. The top class of the Italian fascist party wore these daggers with their distinctive white grips. Typically you see them with the fascio insets in the center. This dagger appears to have an ivory, or synthetic ivory grip plates that were likely special order by the officers personal jeweler. I believe the jeweler who worked on this dagger was not skilled enough to cut out the ivory/synthetic ivory grips to insert the fascio, as it’s not as easy like on the standard celluloid. So they simply left the grips whole, the Italian officer probably liked the idea of standing out amongst his comrades as well. White gripped high leader daggers are extremely, extremely, rare. You do not see them up for sale. We obtained this dagger from an old collection in the United Kingdom. This dagger was actually featured in a vintage militaria magazine in the UK around the heat 2000. Sadly we don’t have a copy of that magazine but we’re shown it while purchasing the dagger.
