WW2 Japanese Civil Defense Gas Mask 1942
Offered here is a very fine example of a Type 1 Model A gas mask that was produced for civil defense in or around 1942. It is believed that these were originally intended for civilian civil defense, but were quickly issued to the Imperial Army. This mask is also very interesting because it appears that this mask was captured by US servicemen, and these GI’s inscribed their names on the inside of the face mask. Overall the condition of the rubberized cloth mask is very fine, it also fortunately comes with the original cloth carrying case as well. A very nice set, and needed to complete any display on Japanese militaria or the pacific theatre!
