WW2 German Factory Helmet
Offered here is a very nice example of a WW2 used German factory helmet. As the war started there was an immediate shortage of combat helmets for the Wehrmacht. We often see that factories who had security or assisted in response to air raids and bombardments wore various headgear. One of the most seen helmet types for these factories are reused fireman helmets. This helmet is exactly that, this helmet began its life as a fireman’s helmet, but because of shortages was modified to be used by civilians. You can see the original painted tag on the inside of the helmets rim, giving the factory information. These helmets are not easily found anymore, many are suggested as being fake, however this example is 100% authentic and a verified example. A very nice piece that is not common at all!
