WWI German M1916 Helmet Stalhelm Faded Camo

$1,200.00
sold out

Offered here is a fabulous example of a First World War German Steel Helmet. This helmet is not simply a plain M1916, but features a lovely textbook faded camouflage. This helmet also retains its original liner, made up of 3 pillow pads. One of the liner pads has a tear, but still strong and intact. Many of these helmets were recycled or poorly stored, which resulted in the vast majority of these liners being destroyed. It is very hard to find stalhelms with their original liners, and even harder to find original faded camo examples. Overall this helmet is in very nice condition. This helmet was the prized bring back of the US veteran who took it home, this is shown with the two carvings of the veterans Texas license number. This veteran also wrote on two of the 3 helmet liner pads, only one pad is legible and reads “one of Fritz’s best camouflage helmets”. The collector we acquired this helmet from said that in the 1970’s he purchased this helmet directly from the veteran himself in Texas. This helmet is truly incredible, and we are proud to offer such a fine example of a German Imperial helmet.
