WW2 German Dress Sword Early Alcoso
Offered here is a very nice German dress sword. This sword is an early pre-1937 production Alcoso example, it features early grip wire and heavy brass casting. The sword was well worn, as indicated with the loss of plating around the handle. The lionhead also features red cut glass for the eyes, as well as a lovely grip that is in very nice shape. This sword was the proud bring back of an American GI, this soldier not only carved his initials “DS” on the obverse of the scabbard, but also inscribed his full name on the reverse of the scabbard “Don Singer”. Scabbard retains much of its original paint, it is also free of any significant dings or cracks, there is normal wear on the scabbard, but overall very good.
